Multiple View Modes
Different collections call for different views. A list of books benefits from a compact text layout. A record collection looks better as album art in a grid. MDCollections gives you three view modes to match how you want to browse.
List View
The default view. Items appear in a vertical list with a thumbnail, title, and summary properties. Compact, scannable, and fast even with large collections. Best for text-heavy collections like books, documents, or inventory lists.
Grid View
A card-based layout that puts images front and center. Each item displays as a square or rectangular card with its primary image and title. Best for visual collections — vinyl records, trading cards, artwork, or anything where the photo matters.
Stacks View
Group your items by any property value and browse them as layered card stacks. Stack your books by genre, your records by decade, your inventory by room. Tapping a stack reveals the items inside. This is the most powerful way to explore patterns and groupings in your collection.
Each view mode remembers its scroll position and can be switched on the fly without losing your place. You can also set a default view mode per collection, so your book collection always opens as a list while your vinyl opens as a grid.
